My crazy sewing head

I am sewing mad lol everything I see is seen through a sewing machine :O

I go clothes shopping and all I see is ''Oooo that will make a great bag''  and now after nipping up to see my daughter a box with dog food she had delivered caught my eye, it has paw prints on it and an outline of a cat's face, eyes, nose and whiskers so what do I do, I turn to my daughter and say ''keep the box for me, I can trace them off and embroider it onto a bag front'' :O lol.

There is no hope for me :)

I made these Retreat pouches  http://emmalinebags.com/collections/sewing-patterns/products/the-retreat-bag-pdf?variant=1678804612

My 1st sew with Kraft-tex

I brought a roll of this new fabric called Kraft-Tex about 2 years ago but just couldn't bring myself to use it. I had to buy it from Germany as it was not rely heard of here in the UK.

It is a funny sort of fabric, it is a card/leather feel that can be washed and ironed like fabric but will crease up to give the look of leather.
I decided as it was becoming more used and available here    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kraft-Tex-Roll-Natural-Publishing/dp/1607057506    to give it a go and sew a shopping bag as I now have the black Kraft-Tex too :)
I found out that it is what is used to make the labels on Levi jeans :)
Next on my list to try is cork fabric, I have ordered some but it has to come from Portugal so have to wait a little while I will post more on that when it does arrive :)

Now off to use some more Kraft-Tex.
 Here is my bag
P.S.   I even did some fancy embroidery stitches on the outer pockets that are either side of the bag handles :)

Lost in time :(

I can not believe  I have neglected my little blog so long :(
A lot has happened since I last posted here.
I have moved house, now my son and I live on our own, Im fed up with men I can never find the right one so Im just going to enjoy my life without one :).

I had a hip operation in October and might need a knee operation very soon so I have had to give up my cleaning job which I enjoyed.

I am now concentrating on my sewing and making bags and cushions.  I have a lovely friend who has a furniture renovation business that sells them for me :)
I look after my Grandson a lot too so my daughter can work.

I have to keep up to date with my blog so I can record all the bags and cushions I sew.

Just some of the bags I have made
A linen look bag with hedgehogs
A Manhattan Mamma bag for my friends daughter to use for her new son. The pattern was part of the Bag of the Month club http://emmalinebags.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/the-manhattan-bag-april-2015-bag-of.html

3 little pouches by Michelle, I don't think this available now http://www.michellepatterns.com/

This bag I just had to keep for myself it is a Swoon Glenda http://swoonpatterns.com/shop/glenda-convertible-clutch/

Inside Glenda

This bag was made for my lovely mum

This crazy owl bag is one of 8 panels I got, they are all different but this is the 1st one used so far :)

Love this pink owl I made using a Debbie Shore pattern http://www.debbieshore.tv/my-shop/, I love her books and watching her on Create and Craft

And lastly a peg apron for my mum so she doesn't have to bend down for pegs when putting out her washing :)

Well that's just a little of what has happened so just need to keep this up now :)
