My tye Dyed duvet cover disaster

I decided yesterday that I would dye an old cream padded duvet cover I had lurking in my cupboard only problem is it was too big for my machine :(
I put 2 packs of dye and the right amount of salt in the drum and followed the instructions and this is what I ended up with lol. Not exactly the nice Ocean blue I had in mind but now it has dried it is a lot softer looking than it was when I took the pic's on the washing line, not quite as purple lol. The crochet pattern looks nice on the corners.

  1. Ahhh, bless it is too lovely to waste. How about getting a couple of cold dyes and soaking it in the bath overnight that might give a more even colour.

  2. Sorry Sue but I just burst out laughing when I saw this! You poor thing - at least you attempted it (and I agree that the crochet looks good that colour!!) Was probably because it was too big for your machine. You could probably just die it all the darker colour to salvage it (Ive done it in the bath before and it worked fine) x

  4. Hehe if only I could put it in a bath, we only have a large walk in shower. I might take it to my mums as she has a bigger machine than me and try dyeing it there :] if that fails I have a funny tie dye duvet haha.
